Most of us remember the rows of beautiful bronze or zinc post office box doors in our local post offices. The U. S. Postal Service has been using these types of doors in a variety of styles and sizes from numerous providers for over a century. In recent years, the Postal Service has been phasing out these beautiful, old box doors for rather unremarkable (and less expensive) doors made from aluminum. The small, elegant doors with their cool combination lock nicely complement a small box that can become a bank with a coin slot added to its top. The bank boxes are made from cherry. One bank has a silver-colored door, and the other is cast bronze.  They are lacquer-finished with a fitted coin slot.
